Does it matter than spending the extra $30.00 for the Box?

Only if you like a manual at the ready and an original CD/DVD, but in some cases there may be additional things you get only in the box product, you'll have to do some checking first to see if there is any value to you at the end...

If you download you can have access to everything right away. All manuals are downloadable anyway. All updates are also downloadable. Personally, I wouldn't wait for the box.

does not really matter, I went for the download, instant access :-), and once you have registered your licence key, if you need to reload your software its available here via the download section, and this will always be the latest version , the version in the box will be out of date within months

That's usually still the case with boxed versions.
When you purchase, your serial number and download will be available to you immediately, but you will get a physical box and disc (and manual?) in the post/mail a few days afterwards.

But if you spend the $30, you have one disc of 1 version. When VDJ is updated, you now have a shiny frisbee! Which is cool, but $30 is allot for a frisbee these days. :) Especially with 8 right around the corner.

If you guys buy the boxed version you still get an instant download. The box is more for gifting as its hard to wrap a download link :)
