Is there a way to transfer the bpm from virtual dj to the song. I need to have it listed in my files with the bpm so that I can back up everything and save it in case the stuff hits the fan. Or does anyone know how or what to use so that I can rescan it!

You shouldn't need to do this if you keep a backup of the VDJ database as all the BPM info is kept in there.
You can however use this to extract the BPM to the tag but it takes a while depending on how many files you have.

It works great!
KEEP A SEPARATE BACKUP OF YOUR MUSIC FILES IN CASE ANYTHING SCREWS UP

thanks keith.. I own 2000 cds and 1400 records and all the record pool stuff. I transferred it to mp3 and now need a back up on cd as mp3 so the files are saved in a order of bmp.. I will get this figured out.. I have it all in virtual with a back up.

On a one by one basis, I think you can just right click file info in browser on any track and click the arrow underneath the field to tag it.

I'm pretty certain that MediaMonkey can read the BPM tag and then use that to name files and folders in it's rename engine.
So save it back with SmallTagger, read the files with MM and then use the rename engine to use the BPM in the folder or file names...

Roy

The small tag has a error every time I load it. it sounded simple and look like the answer to my prayers but it didn't work. The arrow on the the bmp in the the list didn't save it to the song but to the virtual part. Im going to look a the monkey program next..
