Topic: XDJ R1 mapping

I need to change the current deck in VDJ 7.4 so that I can see its wave form on top of the other deck. I'm not sure how to map it, and it is not currently active. At the moment I have to click AorB at the top of the screen on my laptop.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The mapping is 'select' ...

But might already be on the mapper, depending on if Pioneer wants auto headphone cue or not.
Try the cue/prelisten button on the controller, usually at the channel level slider. Does this not also set active (waveform on top) deck?

there is also an Auto feature that may help you on selecting the deck.Its the option AutoHeadphones from Config-->Options
If set to on Load VirtualDJ will select the deck that you load a song.
If set to Always , it will select the deck by touching the jogwheel if both decks are playing.

Alternatively, you can change the action for the PFL buttons on the mixer from pfl to select, but that will lead you to hear only one deck in your headphones each time.
.. or .. map those PFL buttons as ... holding 500ms ? select : pfl
This will still make the PFL buttons work the same way, but the Select action will apply if pressing the buttons for more than 500ms (you can change the time/value of course)

If I understand correctly, this will only work if Im using the XDJ mixer in PC mode not 'hardware' mode. I need to map something on the transport controls of the XDJ rather than mixer controls as I use USB and CDs as well. This means my mixer cannot run in PC mode.

Yes that is correct.
So either you will need to use the AutoHeadphones option, or map a button on your controller (on the deck sides) as select

Have successfully mapped SHIFT-KEYLOCK to select current deck :D

Only problem is... it will not remember it, and I have to re-enter it every time I start VDJ :-(

That sounds very strange..
PC or MAC? And did you install VDJ at default install location? Got write permissions to that location from your current user account?

I have administrator rights and VDJ was installed with default settings. The 4deck VDJ skin has a choice of waveforms so this mapping is not necessary now....
I will investigate further when I have a minute :-)

Incidentally, when I amended the XML file directly it worked as expected on startup

can u help me in mapping virtual dj in windows laptop with xdj r1 i just wanna use it for tracks & for sync can any one help me out

The XDJ-R1 is supplied with an LE version of VDJ that natively supports the R1, so you don't need to map it.

Just install the software supplied with the R1 and it will work. Also, please register the software here.

I want to use the XDJ R1 in virtual dj 7, I just got his license, someone would have the mapping to pass me? HELP ME , PLEASE !

Only pro full members are allowed to download and use mappings.

If you got a LE version for that controller, it should just run fine

Virtual DJ LE doesn't work ... someone has XDJ R1 mapping?

If you bought this unit new, it came with a limited edition of Virtual DJ. Please register the software. If you did not receive the Limited Edition, please contact the seller, or Pioneer. If you have a Limited Edition that came with another controller, it will not work with this controller.

forget about virtual dj its the most stupid use serato or traktor . until 2018 they still have the same old problems no progress just bunch of thieves they sale you their products take your money for nothing , same old shit

There are no purchases linked to your account, and there don't seem to be any support tickets or forum posts for your account either.
So if you did purchase vdj or have any problems it's probably best you explain which problems if you want to get them resolved.
