OK, THANK YOU VIRTUALDJ STAFF. Because of the gain variable change recommended by the last staff member, my controller is now 100% functional. I am elated, and will be AGAIN recommending VDJ to everyone in the entertainment business.

@Jason K: As has already been explained recently in topics on this subject regarding the DDJ-SX, the problem appears to be caused by slicer section, which is not a native function in VirtualDJ and is implemented with some complex VDJscript. It only occurs when scratching simultaneously on both decks, which is something that most DJ's (Including scratch DJ's) would not normally do.

This is something that should be fixed in the next version of VirtualDJ, especially if a native slicer plugin becomes available. For now, if you need to do be able to scratch on both decks simultaneously, then the only solution is to delete the slicer section and map the pads to do something else.

I've had a ticket in forever, and have never gotten the response above. I do not drag both platters at the same time when I'm mixing. I only did that in the video to illustrated the overall problem with this deck/mapper/vdj. Once the slicer section and LED_Volume part of the mapper is gone the latency issue (What I really care about) along with the break up when dragging both platters goes away as well. I look forward to the next version of VDJ 8 and appreciate finally getting a definitive response.

@burnyabad: Please desist from posting bad language and messages in ALL CAPS or your account will be locked. Please read the forum rules before posting any further messages. Please also be polite and courteous in your posts to people who are trying to help you.

Regarding your problem with gain_relative not working after restarting VirtualDJ, this may be a permissions issue, so that the changes that you have made to the mapping are lost after closing VirtualDJ (Because it can't save them back to the mapping file.)

With VirtualDJ closed, please check the permissions of your VirtualDJ folder. If you have installed the updated mapper for the DDJ-SX, make sure that this file in My Documents\VirtualDJ\Mappers is also not set read-only. Once you have done this, start VirtualDJ and make the changes as previously advised. Close VirtualDJ and open it again. Check the mapping to ensure that the gain_relative changes are still present.

If you still have problems after doing this, don't re-install VirtualDJ or make any further changes. Instead, copy and paste your mapping for the GAIN knob so that it can be checked.

thank you. There will be no further cursing.

get decks 2 ? action_deck 1 ? var 'hwmixer' ? nothing : gain_relative : action_deck 2 ? var 'hwmixer' ? nothing : gain_relative : nothing : var 'hwmixer' ? nothing : gain_relative

ok, NEW hard drive, NEW windows install, NEW, exact installation instructions PER VDJ STAFF. SAME RESULT. SOFTWARE TAKE OVER. THIS BOARD IS USELESS with VDJ

You need to DISABLE your CAPS LOCK.

SHOUTING won't get you anywhere

Can I recommend that rather than losing your temper and shouting on the forum that you take this to support.

Once again we used the SX all weekend at BPM with VDJ 7, VDJ 8 and guest DJs so something isn't quite right at your end.

I have an new aileinware laptop I7, VDJ and the DDJ-SX and everything works excellent UNTIL I use the simple automix function. I use automix sometimes at the begining of the evening until it picks up with karaoke peeps. I also use automix to play dinner music at weddings but the music skips/studders when mixing from the song playing to the next one for about a second. I tried everything to fix the problem but nothing helped so I now bring my Numark NS-6 and it works perfect. Strange problem...

Can't you just set gain to disabled? Same with pitch,eq and all that? I'm not experiencing those issues at all. I had a laptop that would not save software settings or did so intermittently, format fixed it.

Hi Jason, Ive literally had no luck with anything. No matter what settings I use, No matter what laptop i use, my gain is completely fubar. Im normalizing 987 gig of music as we speak, then turning off the auto gain within virtual dj. Now, mind you, NO OTHER hardware on the market has me dong this with virtual dj, JUST THIS DAMN DDJ-SX. I have 4 other mixers, different brands, 6 different dj's runnning other hardware and THIS ONE CONTROLLER is doing this. All those dj's demoing vdj 8.0 were 99% using a MAC and or using 100% normalized music track to track with ZERO, count it, ZERO gain adjustment from one track to the next.
