I'm using my M-Audio NRV-10 firewire Mixer as my main sound card in VDJ Which has it's own M-Audio Asio drivers and it works very good in VDJ, the problem I'm having is I can't use my Ableton recording software to record any of the 10 mixer channels into Ableton while VDJ is being used?
I would like to use both programs at the same time if possible, this way I could record the vocals, music, effects and MC channels separately..
Is There a solution?

This is only possible if it has a multi-client ASIO driver available (Please check with the manufacturer.)
Unfortunately, normal ASIO drivers can only be used by one application at a time.
The only other solution is to use a separate sound card for VirtualDJ., leaving the sound card in the mixer free to use with Ableton.

I see, then re-route the output of the second sound card back into two channels in the mixer?
Any more suggestions...

what about if you used cool edit to record the output of the main sound card or the master. It can be done , I have done it but it took a while to get working right as you have to set it up.

Well don't know how I can get this done, I have a Hercules 4-Mix sound card controller, but when I fire it up using VDJ it switches to ASIO drivers and having my M-Audio mixer already running with Ableton through it's own AISIO drivers, this will not work, any suggestions?
I'd like to use the 4-Mix controller so I'll have main outs which I could route from the output side of my controller using 2/ 1/4' TS wired connector from the main outputs into my mixer channels 7/8 and record everything separately on its own channels, plus have the headphones and midi control of the software, but how can I do this?

Yes, open up the Herculese control panel. There should be an option to run in WDM mode. Click on it.

When I configure the 4-Mix as seen in image the control panel in Hercules automatically switches from WDM to ASIO, I also tried the Mic setting in place of "Line 1&2" and got the same results?

Okay, I managed to get the Hercules control panel to stay on WDM sound drivers when using VDJ, I found this to work using these setting on VDJ and Hercules control Panel, would like to use my lines on the controller, but this seems to flip the panel into ASIO...
