Okay guys got one for ya as I've been asked by a Serato user is it possible/how to configure a MacBook, VDJ, 2 CDJ 800, and Rane TTM-57??
My friend is wondering how to make all this work including using the midi functions of the TTM-57 and without the need for a separate soundcard. Isn't the 57 a soundcard as well?
Thanks for the assistance.

TTM57 has SL1 built-in within the unit I believe.
SL1 cannot run VDJ on Mac, but you can with Windows (workaround... Bootcamp).

Not shure if the mixer will send MIDI signals - as far as i remember it uses a protocoll which is Serato compatibel only !

Right , it doesnt send midi so it wont ever control VDJ but I believe he can use it as a sound card.

If he can use the mixer as a soundcard how will the CD players send the time code signal to control Vdj?

The config for using timecode would be the same as it is when using Serato software.
Wiring's the same, only the software is different.

Need some confusion cleared up...
One says it basically won't work unless the Mac is bootcamped...true or false? His Mac is NOT bootcamped. Groovin mentioned using the timecode would work the same but given that the Mac is not boot camped then in the end it still would not work. Correct?
To make sure I understand correctly...the only one way to get VDJ to work on my friends Mac with his TTM57 is to boot camp it and even then won't be able to use the midi functions of the mixer?

Why don't you get in touch with Rane and ask them?
Whether or not their mixer/soundcard will work on Mac with software other than SSL is nothing to do with Atomix or VDJ.

I figured it would beeasier asking here...i see that was a mistake. Thanks Groovin! *humph*
Seriously, I was trying to find out for certain before wasting my time and my friends time trying to get it to work. Plus the only Rane mixers I have used with VDJ are analog.

Seems like it's a clear answer after reading jakovski and beatbreakers reply...
