I ask these questions here because frankly I'm not sure where else to ask. I also forwarded the following as a ticket but assume this will get me quite a few replies from those that use Vdj on a regular basis.
1) I currently subscribe to the Audio Plan and play music using VDJ Free. I no longer play as a paid Dj but have recently been asked to so. We have a group of people that enjoy parties and one or anothers homes and I usually provide the music since I was the so called dj. Hence the subscrition. What an incredible idea. If only we had that in the 70s and 80s. Saturday at my home I had 40+ people at our pool party and was using my own music and occasionally the search service. Most of the time it worked great. As the night went on I found it harder to find music and many times the music available would either say stream not available or would only have 30 to say 120 second of a title. Is this usuall? One I ask because I am paying and would like it to work and two if I start taking jobs and make the VDJ pro purchase as I plan to (if I decide to work again) will this continue. I would hate to be on a job and start playing something for it only to stop and go into something else 30 seconds into the song as it did two or three time saturday. Are there other programs available and if so can you give me some suggestions?
2) If I step up to the Pro VDJ. I'm considering all of the levels but for the price why not pro unless there is a less expensive way to purchase it. What can I expect as a very part time Dj with no scratch knowledge (or desire). I'm talking 4 to maybe 6 times a year tops. With that I currently own a Numark CDMix3. I like the all in one but would consider getting a better piece that would allow me to use the program as the mixer. Recomendations and or where can an old guy get some training?
Something that I forgot to ask. I currently have a MacBook Pro that I had been using. I just purchased a Windows 7 Pro Laptop. Down loaded VDJ and tried to use the Audio service but it would not allow me to find and or play the music that I searched for, only what I had loaded to the system. I did not have the Mac with me so I was not trying to use the service on two systems only the PC.

The audio plan is not going to change even if you upgrade to Pro. Most of the time it's not VDJ but the content provider's themselves such as grooveshark, etc. Although VDJ staff is working on finding a permenant solution to streaming errors.
I would recommend you buy a DJ controller that comes bundled with an LE version. You can still use ContentUnlimited. The benefits of this solution is that the LE version would offer you a discount on upgrading to Pro if you wish upgrade in the future.
Preferably choose a controller with a built in soundcard. This will allow you to properly cue the next track and control the software with knobs and sliders. I dont know what your budget is but you can find decent controller for around $300US.
