In general I would stay with the controllers that are build with VDJ or Serato in mind - not so much the Traktor controllers

Aww man. I've narrowed it down to either the Traktor S4 or the Numark 4TRAK. What do you think?

Well, not the 4trak, since you will probably have problems with the fx section:

But they are both build especially for traktor, so I wouldn't choose any of them really.

In that price range, and for 2 decks, I would choose the Denon MC3000. That is a quality semi-pro/pro product build with VDJ in mind

Best regards

That won't help you since you can use this mappings just with a VDJ pro full version.

I use the Audiophony DjInn/American Audio Versadeck controller. Acts as a fully analog mixer as well as on-board USB and Midi control. Best of all worlds. Balanced outputs, house and booth outs as well. Been using it around a year now and it works pretty well for me.

Hey guys thanks for all your help. I think I'm either going to go with the Numark 4TRAK or the Traktor S4 and just map it. The Numark 4TRAK just has so many positive sides to it. From the layering FX to the switching from A to C without looking at your screen, it just makes it a lot easier.

The 4Track and NS6 are the same.

I know I just like the looks of the 4TRAK a little better. And if I'm spending that much money on a controller I want it to look good haha. It's worth downloading the mapping.

The NS6 doesn't have the strip of knobs on the back, kinda wish I had looked at it before I bought my NS6. Oh well, I did atleast get Serato DJ, though I woulda preferred the extra knobs for fx control

I vote DDj-Sx may ns7II when it comes out as a close second.

I think it all boils down to what you're going to use the controller for. If you've outgrown your current controller then go to a Guitar Center or your local audio/gear store and let your fingers do the walking. I'm fortunate enough to have a good friend who is a retailer for DJ equipment so I can touch and tryout a lot of gear that comes in. The Pioneer DDj-SX is a work of art...but if all your doing is spinning at parties or small gigs then it's a waste of time and investment. Good luck on making your choice.

Currently using 2 Stanton SCS.1Ds and a SCS.1M mixer. IMO it's the ideal setup if you want to get into scratching but without losing any of the pros of a controller.

My favorite feature is the motorized pitch control. Never seen any other controller that can do this.

I am having a very hard time trying to connect my MC3000 to virtual dj home. I read somewhere you could try pro out for 10 mins so I did everything it said to do but it still did not connect. Do you have to have virtual dj pro to connect to the MC3000? I bought it used from guitar center so it did not come with the LE CD. I really need help trying to connect this to my mac book.

You might want to start a new thread but I'll try to help if I can ;) So what I would do, is look for the mapping for the MC3000 somewhere on this site. If you have VDJ Pro, you can download it for free. I'd do this because if you bought it used, the last person who used it could've used it with Traktor, Serato, Deckadance, etc. Installing the mapping would get it up and running with VDJ. Good luck!

So your saying I most likely need the mapping to use VDJ Pro?

You are not eligible for mappings, as they are for pro users. Unfortunately, controllers only work with the versions that they came with, or pro full versions.

...but he should be able to trial it with Home for 10 mins at a time, right?

He's saying that he's been unable to do that.

I use a VCI-400, it's good but the pioneer is better, it's a good construction and generously sized, if the VCI were a little bigger and the pads were rubber like the 380 then I would say the VCI trumps it, but it doesn't

its kind of a shame indeed that the 380 got those few extra's that you would have wanted on the 400.. Like the needle search, rotation light in the platters and indeed the rubber pads...
