Topic: Android Sub-Controller (Yes, it's WORKING!) - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Hi.
I'm in the middle of the process creating an android SUB-CONTROLLER for my setup.
This is NOT a REMOTE app. It's a "wireless" controller.
Here are a few pics:

Thanks!

Now that is dope!!

Liking a lot. If you're collecting names for testing, add me to the list please ;-)

Cheers,

Roy

can you make an an xy controller.. that would be cool... You can probably just set the effects sliders based on the x,y position of your finger in a box.

If you need any testers I have an Atom based android tablet

Could you elaborate a little bit more?

haha I deleted it.. It was a workaround method. You wouldn't need to with buttons, setting it with the x,y positions relative to a box would be much better and much more precise. Then on touchdown you could activate the effects.

You mean X,Y pads ?

Looks great George. Will be a very useful app for sure, and looks like it has potentials to become a super tool.

Now, i was thinking of adding you a tag, but still not sure if Skin Master, Plugin Master or Huey's dope is the most appropriate :P

Is George a descendant of Hermes, Greek god of invention?

And here I was just debating on getting another Fire or an iPad.......... I guess I should ask will this be made public??

Once it's ready, yes.
However the "skin" will be hardcoded. You will need a special app to modify it if you want.
But since it works as a controller you can remap EVERYTHING to suit your needs...

could you make the controls on it modular, meaning you provide the dynamic assets and we decide the placement, size, color and amount of the assets? similar to how touch OSC works, if your using a coordinate system like SVG/XML it wouldn't be too difficult, just time consuming to write a bit more code.

Actually this IS Touch OSC ;)

cool... are you able to pull in the <textzone> %data from skins?

I'm working on it, but I can't tell yet.
Anyway, here's the last pic for today...
It's a BASIC transport control page.
Remember that I design this as a sub-controller, not as a controller / remote app

Looks intresting :D

I guess it is MIDI - So you may be able to request Sysex textrings? This may give you the result that you would be able to define Text strings without blocking usefull midi ccs. - i've done that in the past with some virtual controllers.
Or do you use another protocol?

Regards
