There's a video that came out a few months ago. I bet this deck will be heavier than the first.

Why would you need a second USB? Maybe to swap DJ's laptops mid set?

Other people were asking about the usbs for that reason. I believe its supposed be about 2 pounds heavier. Still lighter than two turn tables a mixer and a midi controller. If you worried about weight grab the ddjsx. I prefer the moving platters and plan to get rid of my ddjsx as soon as the numark comes out. The ddjsx is a real solid controller though. The up faders are really tight vs the ns7. Really hope the ns7 2 has the same ones.

Thanks for posting this. Finally got to see the inputs in the back. I really like it.

I will repeat that using one USB device on two PC's at the SAME TIME is impossible.
USB protocol has a Master (host) - Slave relationship logically, rather than Peer to Peer. One system must cease controlling the device for the other to be able to take over. In other words a DISCONNECTION of the device prior the new connection is always necessary.
Even if a device provided two USB ports for connection with two systems, it would have to be implemented in terms of a USB switch, and thus it would still leave you with some downtime (the time that a PC needs to recognize and initialize communication with a USB device)

The Rane 62/68 have 2 usb ports, don't they work like the numark v7 does?
Posted Fri 24 May 13 @ 1:05 am
Rane 62 uses 2 different USB implementations on the SAME unit. In other words it has 2 USB soundcards on the same housing. That's why the PGM selectors allow you to select USB1 or USB2 port as input. In other words it's like having two different usb devices housed on the same unit.

That's a pretty bad ass feature. Would you be able to switch a channel to line on ns7 2 play an external track switch computers and switch it back to pc on the fly? Would it cause any issues?
I've never had the need of that feature, but other people were asking about it, so I was pointing it out.

I don't know for sure, but you should be able to do so since it's a stand alone mixer ;)

I really don't like the positing of the buttons having the play n cues etc near the mixer, I prefer same layout each side not wacky left/right err god knows what it is.

It will take some getting used to. I think makes more sense to do it that way in the long run though. I'm more worried about the stretch from the platters to the pause button. I tend to cue with my hand and pause with my thumb. It would be nice if the play/pause buttons were as easy to press as on the pioneer stuff. Makes it easier for stuttering. Prob end up using the pads for it anyways though.

Which one do you like best?

Posted Fri 24 May 13 @ 4:02 pm
The Ns7 2 wont have a two Usbs because its a Mobile deck. The Rane 62 is a Club mixer targeting Rotating djs without stopping the music.

The only thing I will miss from the NS7 mk2 is the motorized fader (it is a must) and the 10" platter I get use to on Stanton SCS.1
I would try to put these in it, and make a customised version. It can't be that difficult. just some tooling, and a new body for the unit.
But the motorised fader could be applied without any tooling :P plus some more buttons here and there (for more pitch settings)
I wonder, if I could easily apply the SCS.1d's platter to the NS7's motor?????
It is a real nice one NUMARK, it is so bad that Stanton never made an SCS.2, with USB, better build and a real suport.
Shame on Stanton.... Gooooo Numark.

My question is will vdj support the use of the mpc feature on this to be able to use them for samples like in a traditional mpc pad?
