Topic: Video Effects in Windows 8

I just bought an HP ENVY DV6 with windows 8. Video effects are giving me problems. Specifically soniques and camera. I click activate and it pops the video window but the window is all black.

Most likely you have the Hardware accelerator disabled from Config->Video tab
 
I was having the same issue. until I checked the "use hardware alliteration" but when I do use that I get a lag in video....
