I'm getting ready to purchase some Turntables & a Mixer, but would like some suggestions on which direction I should go in.
If you have any ideas for me that would be great!
Thanks.

Turntables that are "compatible with Virtual DJ"?
Please clarify - are you talking about record decks (that play vinyl) or USB/MIDI controllers with platters?
The word "turntable" is usually used to describe the former, but as you've said "compatible with VDJ" it makes me wonder if you're asking about a controller (or maybe even CD players).

ALL turntables are compatible with VDJ, however, some vinyl control work better than others.

OK - so you want to use timecode?
Pretty much any turntable will work for that purpose. It doesn't have to be "compatible with VDJ" because it doesn't connect directly to it like a controller.
With timecode, the audio from the coded vinyl gets sent into VDJ and it's that signal which allows you to play back the files on the computer from the turntable. In order to do that, you'll need either a suitable audio interface (with two stereo inputs and two stereo outputs) or a mixer that's designed for the purpose of using timecoded vinyl (TCV or DVS - digital vinyl system) with an onboard audio interface and USB connection.
You'll also need the timecoded vinyl.

What style do you plan on spinning? Stay away from low end models like the Stanton T52's the motors aren't that powerful.
Do you want a lot of pitch range?
TTX, Staonton STR8 150's and Vestax PDX3000 MKII offer +/- 50%, quartz lock, reverse, start/stop options and dual start stop buttons along with removable RCA/Power chords, internal grounding with phono/line option.
The TTX USB gives you the ability to archive your vinyl. Quartz lock, pitch lock, 3 torque settings, 33,45,78 RPM
Sl1200's are the workhorse and are very reliable. Used between $200 and $400 on ebay. Fixed RCA/Ground/Power chords
Vestax PDX 3000MKII for $699 - $799 ea, pitch range of up to 50%, dual start stop, reverse, start/stop break settings A.S.T.S. (Anti skate tone arm system) probably the best out there ; but IMO are not worth it. Plastic housing and known for platter wobble I kind of shy away from them.
Stanton 150s and STR8 150's are great decks as well, dual start stop, pitch range of 8-25-50%, removable RCA/Power chords. Internal grounding with Phono/Line options. Going for $599 new, but you can find decently priced used ones on e-bay-
Options for a less costly deck? You could look at the Numark TT-200 or a stanton T80.
