Topic: accommodate over 150 crates of Records

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello all

I just tore down a wall in my house to make my man cave bigger and this
is to accommodate over 150 crates of records when moving all these damn
records I remembered my age and how much. record crates really weigh. I
still have 100 + to bring up from downstairs \\\"damn I\\\'m tired\\\".

I was reading a topic here that I see that is close now. And I agree
that it should have been closed. It was about the people here that
still use timecode TCV OR TCC . As you can see in my picture I use
both. I only use a controller for small parties and some weddings.
For big parties and club events I still use vinyl or CDs. I think this is the
reason why Serato has come up with 3 different programs one is for high
end controllers (Serato DJ) and the free (Serato Intro) is for your middle of the line
controllers. And of course (Serato Live) is for the people like me that still want to
use turntables or CD players and I think this works out great. It\'s a
lot to ask one program to do everything great. I am still one of the
people that loves Virtual DJ but a over bloated program trying to do
everything will fill in something. I personally do hope that the timecode
does improve in the future I would hate to see Virtual DJ give up
on there timecode users. With all that said can anyone come help me
carry records.... LoL

Aaron, as an old man, I can appreciate your setup. I either have, or have owned most of the equipment in this photo. You have spent a lot of time with this project, and it has paid off.

Nice collection of Vinyls.. There are More midi controller users in this forum and maybe thats why the support is Not there for Timecodes. Another thing i want to add is, Technics Stopped making Turntables because You have way too many people with there Old pair of tables.. How can you sell new ones with too many old pairs that still work. You also have alot of New Djs and oldschool Djs and Up and Coming Djs that preffer to use Only turntables. With soo many DJ schools openning up, Turntables wont die Out.

My 25 years of collecting are all in storage. When I get em out and i set them up i hope i can get them that clean, more milk crates i mean.the one thing u can do unless you're unsure which crate you will take out to a gig,its to put them sideways and stack them crates to create sort of a Libarary of "shelves",with the crates...I too have them most on the plastic protectors...but when i moved 6 or 7 months ago,60 miles away, from one storage to another, that was hell...whew! Luv my vinyl collection,if its not to review and recall my life around each tune, dig?

One day I hope to I have some records shelves built. Most of my records
are in some type of order from disco to hip hop with some jazz and acid
jazz and a big collection of funk that I got from my dad and my uncle
who still spins vinyl today

my uncle DJ Turn Oden

I don't see any Technic SLDZ 1200's in your first picture. Certainly those sexy decks would look good in that room, lol!!

Technic SLDZ 1200

I never real liked them but they do look nice. I could still get some. But man When
I say there's no more room there's real no more room. I'm off next week I will try to
do something we this damn crates.

wow!!!! i love vinyl too.... I have been djing from vinyl and watched in despair as the digital age started to take over!!!! i still use vinyl as much as i can and salute people who still support it! My good friend is now the number 1 inderpendent cutter of dublates and vinyls in the UK!!!! i love watching him work and then cutting a piece of vinyl and then seeing top djs like Andy C dropping them in the club a few days later. KEEP VINYL ALIVE!!!

I built a shed at the lake with no doors on it and sealed all the way around 2000 records and 1300 cds.
