so what happened to the regular updates to vdj 7 we were promised???
so much for the promise of including parts of vdj 8 while we all slowly die of old age waiting for the vdj 8 release.

Well I can't remember any promises been made by the dev team, I do remember something about asking us users to be patient while a complete re write of the software takes place, it was also said we may get incremental updates of the new version along the way if and when they deemed it appropriate to release any.

Smart mouthing and bitching isn't going to get you updates any quicker, just be patient like the rest of us.

Announcing the re-write release over a year out was a bit much imo....

im neither smart mouthing or bitching so can you please refrain from such comments.....
when vdj 7.1 was released it was stated that it was the first of the upgrades to vdj 7 and that there would be regular
releases of version 7 code to include some of the features of vdj 8.

this is from the october release of vdj 7.1
"But, we realize it's been a year already, and we don't want to keep you waiting so long, so a part of our developer team has started to work again on the 7.x code-base, to continue to bring you updates in the meantime.

So, from now on, we will release small updates to the 7.x code-base, fixing small bugs, adding new controllers, and porting some of the new features from v8, until v8 is fully ready."

tayla if ur gonna jump on every member that asks a reasonable question u will end up pissing of a lot of users :)

There you go again, twisting words, so don't get the humb with me, "so much for the promise of including parts of vdj 8" and "while we all slowly die of old age" are your words not mine. That to me is smart mouthing and bitching in anyones book.

Flogging a dead horse when there are zillions of posts on the subject and opening a new one is tedious.

Ok I'm guilty of having posted two replys today on this same subject, but they explained what has already been mentioned before, we will get the updates and the new version when the dev team decide.

Not sure of your age but by the tone of your initial question and the response, you still must be in your early teens or younger.

They have kept their promise. Fixed some bugs, added new controllers, and ported some new features. There have been three updates, they did not say there would be more. Maybe if they keep adding to seven, it takes them away from doing stuff on eight. Wow, did I just think of that all by myself? I am dying of old age, and will be pissed if I don't get eight, gosh darn it.

The last update was less than 3 months ago. Small parts of v8 have been included, but obviously we aren't going to backport all the v8 features are we?

Bear in mind there is a balance to be had - if all the development time is spent on updating v7, then v8 will take longer.

I am not saying there will be no more v7 updates - and I'm not saying there will be either. I'm simply saying have patience and make use of what you have as I'll bet you haven't scratched the surface of what you can do now.

I'm quite ready for the V-8's "colored database" option. Perhaps that would be a great candidate for V7.4. I saw the demo of this in Version 8 at the August Atlantic City Expo.

I would like to see a "right click" option for each song that will pop up a color pallet and allow me to choose a color for that particular song. I'd also like to have the capabililty to assign perhaps 10 quick pick colors to a song.

We can then play music by the rainbow. Red for "hot' music on through blue for "mellow".

Of course it would be a lot of work to go through each song and apply the color changes, but I'm game. I believe this is an awesome tool to control the music flow and vibe.

you question my age but its you taking personal digs not me. i dont see how you can say im twisting things as in the post for 7.1 it did say

"So, from now on, we will release small updates to the 7.x code-base, fixing small bugs, adding new controllers, and porting some of the new features from v8, until v8 is fully ready."

now im no expert at English but to me this sounds like they will keep putting out updates UNTIL V8 IS FULLY READY......
and i dont see the zillions of posts on vdj 7.4???
