im curious as to what odds it makes??

ive noticed its a regular occurence for tracks to be labeled as half or double that which you believe it to be, bottom line is they still mix ok.

you could always try scaning your tracks with mixed in key and having it write the bpm to the id3 tag.

Makes a HUGE difference when you want to use samples and have them sync. They'll either be to fast or to slow so yes it is important that the bpm is correct. For just mixing it wouldn't matter.
Someone just said VDJ has a setting in the options tabs the pertains to the BPM and it should be set to "Smart". I usually fix them myself so I haven't tested that option yet.

Hope that helps some what

Also for the echo and loop out effects....

Unfortunately "smart" isn't smart enough...

I'm always having to go through manually and change BPMs.

VDJ always seems to get things backwards. Slow tracks are seen as having a fast BPM and fast tracks are seen as slow.

It's a shame you can't "teach" VDJ which genres are slow and which are fast - like for example assign the genre 'dubstep' to always be slow (most of 'em tend to be 70BPM for some reason) and 'Drum & Bass' to be fast.

it did at one time....your could set for house r&b if remember that correctly.
