Me too. This will be 2009 for me all over again: )

i have the ns7 and i've always wondered why they didn't incorporate 4 channels and synth pads.
it's finally here :)

But can it be mapped, thats the big question.... ;)

What we need is virtual dj8 and a controller like this made for our software. Looks an amazing piece of kit just sad to see a serato logo splashed all over it lol. Fair play to Serato though , they are really moving forward at pace now. Hope that when version 8 finally comes out we can get a tie in with someone like Pioneer, Numark or Denon.

If this is mappable, it will be mine!!! I have an NS6, and was just waiting for the 7 to get the upgrade! Looks like a sweet piece of gear!

It looks great but it is too big and too heavy. I sold my NS7 for that same reason and got the NS6.

Also known as "real gear" LOL!

When you're on the road doing gig after gig, taking your gear in and out of venues constantly, you need something rugged.

Years ago, a "DJ console" would have been much bigger and heavier than an NS7. Decks, mixer, amps, wooden case....

My playback coffin (two media players & mixer) weighs 40KG. Sometimes heavy is good.

THEM BOYS AT NUMARK HAVE SOMETHING HERE, THEY DEFINITELY DO

There's only one thing that bugs me on this unit: The completely mirrored layout... I prefer the layout of my gear "cloned", not "mirrored". At least for the majority of controls like PLAY/CUE e.t.c...
However it's a very interesting unit!

I agree that seems weird to me too. I will need to play around with it. The NS6 has the pitch faders that way and it always threw me off. I always have to look to adjust the pitch. Its just not "normal"

No... will there be a blender BIG ENOUGH!

I do kind of understand the mirros layout as it puts some of the most used buttons next to the mixer. I like some of the futures on the NS7 II better then my DDJ SX but there are more things about the NS7 II that make me say no way I'm getting it. It's def a big improvment to the original NS7 and nice to have separate hotcues so you can play samples and cue points at the same time, but then the pad bank for cues should be used for something els I think.

It's heavy yes and some years ago you needed a van if you needed to bring you own setup, now all you need is a skateboard and a bagpack :D with this you need the car(van) back in.

This will mainly appel to more old school DJ that are used to vinyl as mani if not all new DJ's have never touched a TT in their life.
I remembered a kid once when he saw some LP's he said "WOW those CD's are big"

with the current version it will be pretty limited. those pads will just end up being used for samplers or cues.
unless of course you run reason in the background as rewire. run dr rex and THEN it's a whole new ball game. use those 16 pads to trigger any loop. In theory this should work as Reason is easily mappable. I'd Imagine it would take a while for a support. I wonder what's holding the virtual 8 back.... timeline issues? how about a 7.4 version with sampler banks . set of 12's . but more than 4 banks. add ns7 2 support . just my wishful thinking .

I watched the NAMM video's. The new unit looks great. I still use my NS7 for mobile gigs but can't use it in the club because the "walkie talkies" in the club always make the volume drop by 75% when you key up to transmit anywhere near it. This never happens with my Denon DN-MC6000. I am sure it is just better insulated from radio waves.

Anybody at NAMM needs to to walk up to the NS7 II and press the talk key on a walkie talkie while it's playing and see what happens.

I would really like to know if they fixed this problem.

DJ James

Still doesn't weigh as much as 2 Tech's, 1 mixer in a wooden DJ coffin lol

The NS7 is now four years old, technology wise.. thats ancient history. The insides of this device will be entirely different from the origional NS7 so the chances of this issue still being in are very very small
