Need a bit off mapping advice.
I have been using timecoded cds with a pioneer CDJ 1000 and have just bought a VMS4.1 for small functions.
I need a bit of mapping help on the cue buttons to get them to behave like the timecoded.
On the CDJs I play the track and find the point where I want the cue to play from. Whilst holding the platter I then press the cue button and from there if i press cue it plays from that point.
On the VMS 4.1 if I do the same every time I press play it jumps right back to the beginning of the track and the only way I can get it to start from that point is to set delete the hotcue and resave one then it will play on the cue button from the correct point.
Any help would be appreciated on how to mapp the cue button correctly.

What timecodes are you using and how do you have them set up? I usually get that jump your experiencing when I start the timecode from the beginning.

Its not a problem with timecodes I dont have any issues with them (using serato timecode cds). I am trying to alter the behaviour of the cue button on a controller

I know if you have the timecodes in absolute, you loose all you midi functions related to the track playing.

Try moving the plater as soon as the track is done loading. Once it jumps, put the track back on you preset cue. See if that works. I have to do that every time I reset the timecode back to the begging.

What is vms4.1 currently mapped to? Have you tried cue_play?

Its mapped to cue_stop now but have to press the pause button whilst holding the platter then let go and press cue and it puts the cue marker in the correct place.
Trying to get it to set the cue point while just holding the platter on the vms 4.1 in the correct place but cant seem to get it to do it.
For the other comments, please read the thread I am NOT using time codes I have NO problem with them this is totally separate. Its the VMS4.1 mapping behaviour I am have problems with.
