Hello Fellow Djs, tonight is my first real big gig, its at a college for about 500 people, I could use any advice since I consider myself fairly unexperienced! Any kind of help is really appreciated! Thanks!

If you mess up, act like it's part of the show. Look like you're having fun too. Sometimes people will forgive the DJ a lot if he is happy and dancing, more than if he looks all serious and insecure.
And do the Gangnam Style, hahahaha

How long have you been DJing? Another words, when you say inexperienced, do you mean you never touched VDJ or any equipment until today, or as in a few days ago, or a few weeks ago? How long is the gig? How much music do you have? Do you know the format (open or specific genre)? Are you playing audio or doing videos or a combo of both?
If you're nervous, have a shot or two before you start playing to loosen up and ease the tension....especially if you're going to be set up in an area where all eyes will be on you. Just go with the flow. Hopefully you have alot of music with intros to help you transition from one track to the next, as being a new DJ, you'll need some help. Try and listen to a bunch of songs before you start so you can learn where the buildups and breakdowns are of each track. If you do mess up, dont stress too much about it. Just keep going and doing what you're there to do. The more you worry, the more you actually will mess up because you'll be focusing on the trainwreck more than how you're going to mix into the next track.
Good luck, and after tonights performance....practice, practice, practice! And when you think you have practiced enough, start over and practice some more! Know your equipment and music inside and out. Learn VDJ and everything it can do. Ask for help from other DJ's if you dont know how to do something.
Hope everything goes well!

Learn to crawl before attempting to walk, if you're not ready there's no shame in passing up an opportunity - a first gig gone wrong will likely be more damaging in the long run. This is supposed to be fun that's true, but you may get a few in the audience who aren't so sympathetic towards your lack of experience. Hope it went well.
