Topic: Traktor Kontrol F1 vs Midi Fighter 3d

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey guys I am thinking about buying the traktor kontrol f1 or the midi fighter 3d. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is the difference between the two and give any advice on whether I should buy one over the other. I am currently getting a traktor s2 to work with it. Here is a link tto the midi fighter 3d... https://store.djtechtools.com/products/midi-fighter-3d

Thanks,

A.M.

P.S. I know that this is virtual dj but I need some advice and I am still a loyal customer to virtual dj and will continue using their software

Doesnt anyone have any advice, comments or anything... I will take anything useful at this point. I just wanna know which one I will get bang for my buck.

you asked at the wrong time... most of the guys on the forum are working on the weekend...

the midifighter 3d is a bit gimmicky IMO... the accelerometers are a a waste.. If they offered a midifighter pro 3d version I would say that is the better option, however as none exists I'd say the F1 is a better choice as it has more useful controls and is a better size for pairing up with other midi controllers...

The main reason though is that techie has one and is currently making a mapping for it (there is a video of it somewhere on the forum) The midifighter 3d is supposed to receive native support from atomix at some stage but you might be waiting a while before that happens, atleast until VDJ8 arrives, I'd say techie will be done in a couple of weeks from what he showed in the video.

revision one is almost done actually, im just thinking about how im going to implement the modifier buttons, whether ill do them in the definition (hardware shift) or in VirtualDJ (software shift).

also im kinda stuck on how im going to map the pads, whether i map them to samplers or map them to decks 5-8 just like traktors remix decks

also, the light will be working but wont save between sessions.
unfortunately i dont have time to learn how to make skins at the moment so unless somebody else is able to assis me, then saving LED's wont be functional for quite a while.

Techie / TechNZ

What they all said here is correct but you can also try the Traktor Kontrol because it lasts longer.

the video in question is this one

i took this video shortly after finishing work on the LED mapping, at this point in time it does nothign but flash, the sound is a resident VirtualDJ Radio DJ.

the F1 mapper will be delayed for awhile while i re design my S4 mapping to get everything working and think of new and creative ways to use the F1.
