All, I'm not a Dj but I do a lot of music for high school sporting events and friday night tailgating before the games. I do use virtualdj and it makes it fun even going to add a controler with sound card. Here is my question. The of downloading music is costly and I'm one person and would not ask the schools to cover the cost. Do any dj share music or mixes? Also how can someone get mixes for games. Thanks for any help.

If you doing that, technically you are a DJ. Anyhow, since you need music and you use VDJ, Consider Groveshark for 10 bucks a month, you have access to many songs. Just go to the membership section for the information.

Thanks, but from what I can see most of these are live and during the games its hard to get internet in the press box. I need to be able to down load them. Also there is songs that I cant play at the high school and need time to listen for those words or phrases. Any other help would be great. Thanks

You can download your songs anytime with Grooveshark. You can get the radio and clean versions as well. Type in a song name, artist, etc. you'll get plenty to search from and once you download, it'll be in your Netsearch area for playback.

NetSearch music can be cached to allow you to play it off-line - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Can%20I%20use%20NetSearch%20with%20no%20Internet%20connection.html
You could also use mobile/cellphone broadband to allow you to download any music that you don't have on demand.
Sharing music is illegal and both you and the school could face prosecution if you are caught playing illegally obtained music in public. Either yourself or the school must also have public performance licenses from the appropriate authorities in your country. Purchasing music and/or renting it via subscription services does not give you the right to play it in public.
