I would like to see better instructions and manuals including screen shots and videos and also full discriptive of all mods. Many other non dj companys info is totally right down to the point and saves the forum kaos. It would be something that would give us all a better understanding of the incredible features that you spent so many hours making and let us take them to the fullest limit of there ability..

I've read some of your post and I know you can use VDJ inside and out, what's stopping you from make videos??
I understand your point and all but what's stopping you??
And no this isn't meant to come sideways, I'm asking a serious question.

This program can do pretty much anything that the user triggers "no automation" It took me about 6 months to find any holes or bugs though and I was obsessed with pushing it to the limit! The most rewarding experience though is creating your own skin.

here is the truth . I just posted a video on the layout of the apc40 as someone had it in the wish form. I got it working and showed it and explained the set up.One of the moderators asked why he shouldnt lock it.. The fact is that im trying to help others learn faster and smarter. If there would have been a video and a better instruction I would have saved time and work. Im thinking that a lot of people have no idea what the max level this can do . Most people who are new here only see the things it can do by only seeing one skin and think that its limited and there is no page telling of all the stuff you can command it to do.. simplicity and desing are well done by virtual dj.. the understanding that the better the skin the more stuff it can do. Im not offended as others are helping others. I just wonder if the content of the instructions could be a little bit better.
Example
The designers did a awesome job on the keys learend and action learned. I would love to see a full list of each code that it could do and then in a different color the command for it
Play and pause (play_pause)
play while pressed (play while_pressed)
Led blink to the beat
I also didnt know about jumping back and forth by selected buttons untill a few weeks ago. I understand alot as I have been a member since the blue box with no features in the first week they came out with the program.
these are just easy samples
some of the commands are way more intensive.

I agree I would love to have someone make me the skin for the apc I will design the bmp and make the layers if there was awesome instruction. I loaded the skin maker and it asked me to dontate for it.. I think this should be on the down load as it was really suprising as when I bought the pro it didnt have anything above the pro... My skin is going to wait till version 8 as I want to not spend 100 hours making a multi level skin and find out they changed things. I found out that some of the issues i was having have already been fixed in 8.. I wish there was a posting about the features comming that have been already locked in and i dont even care if they are still working out the bugs.

Here's the reality, your post belongs in the hardware forum not the Wishes forum as the original poster is looking for native support for the device. If they wanted an add-on device, they can already go here and download the device and mapper files from a variety of users:

As for instructions, there is a manual that gives the basic knowledge of the workings of the program:
http://www.virtualdj.com/images/pdf/VirtualDJ%207%20-%20User%20Guide.pdf
For power users, there is a pile of information available in the wiki including scripting found here:
http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript.html
The software has too many features in order to create a manual or video based on all it's possibilities. The wiki is the source of information designed for users to educate themselves and take advantage of these possibilities.

cool, just saw it .. it would have been great if they would have sent it to my pm box because if you hadnt said anything i wouldnt have caught the message.. I will fix it . I didnt mean to be rude in any way. I just read 900 pages of a manual to learn eveything I can. It would just be nice as I am retired and have lots of time...

I find that a lot of DJs don't read bother to read the user's manual. They just go straight to the forum and ask stupid questions about even the most basic functions. You could make a 1000 page manual covering every little aspect of the software and you'll still always have DJs flooding the forum with questions.

No such thing as stupid question.
I don't know that I totally believe they though. I guesses it depends on the level of the questioners knowledge.
