I use Freestyler (which is free plus works with VDJ for S2L using SBDJ's plugin) and do the old fasioned wired route. I use to have a DMX hardware controller, but once I started to use Freestyler I'll never go back. My 2 cents, good luck!

Cheers bro
Just wanted to start right only thing is the cabling is mad ugly on the floor..
Thats why i thought of the wireless route.

One additional cable? I already have 10 to 15 cables running from my "work area / table" - 1 more does not really bother me...

Wireless is fine too, no experience with it yet. I don't think there are any software based DMX controlers that offer wireless right from the start. So you will need an adaptor for that.

I started with Chauvet's Show Express, which is esentiallly free as well, but you will need to buy one of thier interfaces. There is also a VDJ plugin for it.

Good thing about free is, try the both and see what you like. If you google "The lighting controler" and look at the first thread, you will find all the links you need. Show Express I think is the Chauvet version and Sweet Light is the other version. I think both are pretty much the same, but I have not used Sweet Light.

Good luck!

USB to DMX adapter. There are lots of diagrams available on the web or buy one on eBay. I'm currently busy designing and building one for myself.
