I can't hear the side that I am cueing up.

pump up the volume, get the sh.. out of your ears uhh,...turn the pfl to the right side, check your settings.
Be specific so I can be to....
 
When sound checking you make sure you hear everything through your headphones first. This tells me it is most likely a configuration issue..
