Topic: Video Lag on Output

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I'm running Virtual Dj Pro 7 with most recent updates. I just switched from a pc to a Mac and my videos on my output are not in sync with my music, was working great on a pc with 4gig ram and i3 proc, went to a Mac with 8gig ram and i7 proc and im getting this video lag. Any help would be great! My videos are in MPEG4 format

I see you have 70 views, and no answers. I don't use a MAC, so I can't help you either. You may want to try the Mac Forum, good luck.

Only thing I've found to do is convert the files using a program called Won Tube Video Converter, very inconvienent and it kills the resolution on hd vids. and u still get lines and some jumping but the sound in in sync with the video. Ive talked with a few friends who dj as well and are having the same problem. Love my Mac but can't make money or a good reputation with horrible video feeds. Virtual Dj needs to step up and fix this problem! I know its not my CPU because the videos play awesome with quicktime, and Itunes as well. It has to do with the codecs and how virtual dj responds to them. Even worse I can net search the vids. right from Virtual Dj and they output the same way nothing is in sync. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you considered going the bootcamp/win 7 route? I've been reading up on that and it seems it is highly recommended as somehow windows performs better on a Mac. I've also read where Vdj was originally written for PC then ported to Mac. One last and telling working example of this is Vdj uses Mac's boot camped with Win 7 at the trade shows.

I considered it but I'm not real familiar with it.. Do I need a liscensed copy of windows to do this?

I work the trade shows and can tell you, our booth is full of MACs, and they work perfectly. I will say it again, Have You tried the MAC Forum? It would seem to me, that people that use MACs might be able to help you better with this issue.

Yes, you will need a licensed version of Windows to install under bootcamp.

NOTE: You can't use the existing license from another PC that you already own unless it is a retail (Non-OEM) version and you uninstall it from the PC first.
