Topic: scan for BPM?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I finally purchased VDJ a few weeks ago, and have used it at several gigs thus far, however, I notice that on some searches, a lot of the music is missing album titles and such. I right-clicked on a folder (i.e. greatest hits compilations) and it began to scan each song in each folder, however, after 3 1/2 hours of scanning just this folder alone, it was barely through the "B"'s. So my question is, is this something that I need to do for each song on my hard drive? Also, I've been getting error messages when loading a song into the deck, yet nothing has been removed or deleted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Then check out the FAQ, http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/FAQ.html specifically here:

I would recommend scanning everything in your library, I let mine go over night the first time.
