Topic: Need an Amp

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello,
I recently got a Numark Mixtrack Pro. As well as two Pyle speakers each respectively have 500 watts. I also bought an amp a Pyle PTA1000.
- When I hook up the speakers to my amp it plays for two-three minutes then the music won't play.
- If I hook it up to a Sony Home theater console the speakers play fine for a long time.
Should I get a new Amp or work with the Sony??

I say you go back to change that amp with warranty..

Alright thanks I bought a Technical Pro Amp instead I'll see how that goes.

amps are getting cheaper and lighter all the time. I just installed beringer amps that were so light that I though I had the empty demo.. it worked awesome.. I stacked 12 amps then ran them into a processor and then to a dbx unit .. the thing is you dont always get what you pay for... some times you get better some times you get junk.

I don't want to come off as snobby, but you are really buying BOTTOM quality amps, and that is probably your problem here. (lord knows I started with some pretty makeshift gear back in 1994!)

I'd wager you paid between $75-200 USD for your amp?...You can get used QSC/Peavey/EV/Crown etc at guitar center for that money bro!

Same goes for speakers!

Let's keep in mind, everyone, we all have budgets to work within, and not to pass judgement....
