I am looking to buy two vinyl turntables and a mixer. I am not sure what I am buying yet, but what all will I need to be able to use those with virtualdj? People mention getting sound cards and time code vinyls, but I don't know what all I really need to simply take two turntables, mixer, and speakers and make them work with virtual dj. I don't know where the speakers would get hooked up to. Most people say you plug them into your sound card, but again, I am a complete noob when it comes to this. I have used turntables before, but they were already setup. So I am trying to learn about all this and get my own pair. I plan to use virtual dj to play my digital music library and to use the turntables to blend songs together. Any help would be greatly appreciated for all the things I will need.

If you want to use turntables, you will have to get VDJ Pro. There is no use in buying equipment, because it will not work with the version you have. You will need two turntables, a mixer, a sound card, time code vinyl, and powered speakers. Who ever sells you this equipment, will also sell you the cables you need. Good luck.

i have a laptop with only one headphone output how can i hear the 2nd song to mix wile the other one is in play.thank im new to all this

I you buy a mixer with a built in audio card, such as the DV2 USB, the only thing you will need are the time code vinyls, am I right?

The DV2 looks like it's capable of being used for a DVS setup, so yeah.

Not every mixer with USB is suitable though.

Ive been thinking of buying it to use it with my turntables, so I just want to make sure that it will work. Is there any other mixer at a reasonable price with a built in audio that you might recommend?

reasonable price?

Easier if you give us a limit as to how far youll go.

two hundred dollars. I have a four channel mixer attached to my CDJ's but I also want to take my turntables for a spin from time to time, so it's not like I really need something big or expensive, just something that would work with VDJ, and that comes with a built in audio card.

I'd say the DV2 is the best youll get then. Ive never used one but from the videos Ive seen, its held its own.
Might get one myself and give a test run, hell their cheap enough, lol!!

I might just end up buying the American Audio mixer. I've used American Audio products before, and never had a single problem, so I can expect the same from this mixer.
