I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this, but I think it would be cool if VDJ could output video or more so a slide show of pics of the artist currently playing on the decks similar to the way zune does on the pc player and on xbox360 in the trippy text and cover art floating by, that would be a cool way show what your playing to a crowd or even for home mixes to post on youtube, etc

Why not just video edit your own clips and then sync them side by side with the tracks. The video could then be scratched or modified in a million different ways....

yeah but video tends eats up ram/cpu power and sometimes crashing when you try and loop-play/mash togather muti-tracks at the same time. I've had this problem with my desktop where I'd loop an intro to one video to blend with the outro of another video and the pc slow down or VDJ crashes.

What are the specs of your machine cause it sounds like you need to upgrade your machine...... I can mix 4 videos, well have 4 videos loaded and switch between them without a hiccup......

...or the machine needs to be "optimized" and non essential services stopped before video mixing is attempted. Video mixing is much more process intensive than audio mixing. But you probably already realize that.....

Have you guys actually seen the effect he's talking about?

It's not video. Making video clips for every track takes time and effort and takes up valuable drive space.

This is more like a smart slide show, created on the fly by the software and is coded to look random.

It just uses images and text, along with subtle movement, changes in colour, size and so on.

If this facility was in VDJ I'd use it myself........and I don't play music videos or do karaoke etc.

My PC is for gaming mostly, 64bit windows with 8GB ram i7 quad core, and 2x 550ti nvidia cards and yes programs do run in the background and thats most likely the cause of the video playback problem.

Groovedj is right on with what was suggesting, I have a zune and really love the visualizer, its awsome. I think the VDJ could incorporate that into the software where the color filters would pulse to the beat, effects like echo and reverb can blur the pictures, all types of cool stuff with the fonts, different themes, sky is the limit. When you record your mix that can be the video you get, it will show the artist and song in a cool video/audio package that can be share on youtube, vimeo, facebook.
