Hello all,
Firstly, I'm new to DJing. What I want to know is if there is some sort of hardware I can add to my setup (just a mixtrack pro and VDJ for now) that I can use to download samples on to and quickly access while playing out?
Thanks in advance,
RB.

your probably better off upgrading vdj to pro so you get full use of the internal sampler and get a drum pad controller like a "akai mpd", "m-audio trigger finger", "korg pad control" or "korg nanopad"
the sampler is okay at the moment, you get 12 samples they can be stuttered, looped, beatlocked and pitchmatched. but the next versions teaser showed that we will get a better sampler than traktor as we can use more than 16 samples and choose the grouping of samples unlike traktor which are locked, check out the video's in the general thread.
There is also a sample manager plugin that can be used to easily save multiple banks of sample and load them easily.

Well it really depends how he's planning to use the sampler/samples.
The Roland and Akai products are MUCH more versatile and professional than the 'sampler' in VDJ (which is really just a sample player).

You're not aware of the new Traktor 2.5 Remix Decks then? 64 sample slots.

Cheers guys!
The Akai one looks good. I'm just looking for something simple that I can download a few effects on to (eg. bombs, lazers etc) and play at the touch of a button
:)

Do you have an iPod touch, iPhone or iPad?
If so then there are various sample playing apps, including the Krafty Kuts DJ Tools app as used by DJ Delboy aka Delimentary.
