Topic: 3 sound cards!!!

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Can I use 3 separate sound cards
1 integrated 5.1
2 pci sound blaster 5.1
3 smiple USB sound card
so i can have in total 5 audio channels to route into mixer
For example 3 channels for decks, 2 for loops, or 4 for decks and fifth for loops

Thank you very much for help

If your 5.1 cards have analog outputs, you will have 12 stereo outputs: 3 on each 5.1 card, and 3 on USB cards.
If you need 5 stereo outputs, you can use only 2 cards instead turn your system onto a "soundcard christmas tree".
To enable every outuput, just change the speakers configuration on each 5.1 soundcard menu.
Then, route your cards outputs to decks, sampler or whatever on VirtualDJ advanced audio config. See VirtualDJ 7 audio setup guide for more information.

You can, but I would strongly recommend you use one good one. You have all manner of potential timing and latency issues to deal with when using multiple soundcards.

What he said. Remember the more usb's you have plugged in the slower your laptop will run and use more processing power. Try and just use one.

I'm not sure what you mean when you need an extra channel for loops?
