Topic: Hdmi to Component..........

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I need a converter that goes from HDMI too Component (RGB). I have a converter but it goes from VGA to S-Video or Video (yellow cable). Can anyone point me in the right direction? And Im a firm believer in "pay to play" but can I get something decent in the 200/300 dollar range?

Thanks for any info and your time
Huey

How's that gonna work?? You can't send out a digital signal and have it magically change to an analog signal...........I need an actual converter.

had the same problem at work when we put in new computer. cant remember brand but converter works like a charm. will try and remember to take a pic and write down brand when i get back wednesday night

Please and Thank-you. Doing a show at a new club the 28th and their telling me its only Component.

Double check what they mean as people often get component/composite mixed up and they are very different animals.

If they are unsure, ask them how many video connections there are - if it's 1 it's composite. If more it could be component - make sure you find out how many connections and what format as there are several different component formats, most likely to be 3 connection YPBPR.

Physically both connections would usually be RCA or BNC (simple cheap adapters available).

Personally I use a DVI adapter that is USB powered and gives both component and composite outputs.

I asked him and he said "Component, RGB", the one with the RED, GREEN & BLUE rca. OK so I was digging around in my wire box and found a 7 pin s-video adaptor. It fits the socket on my laptop and has the RGB rca's on one end. Well I plug everything into my 55' tv and rebooted my laptop, all was good until I started playing videos. Well everything on my tv has a GREEN tint to it. I switched tv's and it was still there so I'm ruling out my tv's, next I switched the rca's that go from the adaptor to the tv and the green tint was still there. Basiclly everything thats BLUE is GREEN, all other colors seem to be right......... Ive been searching the net and have found nothing. Anybody got any info as to what could be causing this??

@Scott, could you give me a link to that unit or cable you have please?

Thanks for the time and info

Heres the adaptor Im using, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7-Pin-S-Video-to-3-RGB-RCA-Component-TV-HDTV-Cable-UK-/330630793321?pt=UK_Computing_Sound_Vision_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item4cfb218869

huey, in my experience from working with BskyB, often when you get a green screen its a cable issue, or a bad connection, if its ok before playing videos then im unsure.

Try this maker, www.sabrent.com/category/tv-video-capture/ They are sold on Amazon also. I bought one for $54 and it works like a charm. They also have various convertors.

OK now I wanna hook up to 3 other displays, any recommendations for a spilter / amplifier??

Thanks for all the info thus far

Well I got this one, http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002WBOQPU/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?m=A1AMUYYA3CT6HJ&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1
And it doesn't seem to work correctly, it has my picture shifted to the left and it doesn't have horizontal or vertical controls. Not a very professional unit in my opinion.

@Scott, can you please adequate tell me your using, a link to that DVI unit you have??

Use the Sabrent unit. I've just received my other one last thursday. It worked flawless during my 5 hour video gig with plug and play crystal clear results!
