Topic: Help on New lighting pieces

I want to add 2 or 4 LED Scanners but really not sure which way to go. I was looking at the Chauvet Intimidator 200's and 100's. Is there a preference here to scanners in 2012? Budget is less than $1K (U.S.). I would also like to add a nice laser effect but this may be in the future. (looking at ADJ Royal Sky)

Current Lighting:

1 - ADJ Revo 4
2 - ADJ Micro Galaxian Laser
1 - Elation Light Co-Pilot III
2 - ADJ Mega Bar 50RGB
2 - ADJ Aggressor Tri LED
Chauvet Hurricane 1300 Fog Machine
Chauvet Obey 40

I really want to add some DMX lights to this setup as right now only the MegaBars and Revo are the only DMX lights I have. Thanks in advance.

Start out with 2, either Chauvet or ADJ are great for mobile applications. See how you like them. Add more if you feel you want them. I have 2 ADJ X-Scans and they work great. I have a 15' truss and two work great with all my lights (check out the link https://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?v=3165005006568). So really you just have to see for yourself.

And on a side note try out Freestyler DMX Program (IT'S FREE!!!). Fairly simple to use and SBDJ has some great plug-ins for it that work with VDJ!
 
which USB to DMX interface are you using?

I use the Enttec Pro. Its about $158 or so on EBay. DJ Cheers has a few tutorials on Youtube on how to hook up Freestyler, network, and use cue point to activite your lights in VDJ.
 
I use the Revo 3 & 4 for my mobile gig. I have two of each. They really light up a full gym. Lots of compliments.

I decided on the Chauvet Intimidator Spot 150 LED. I purchased two of these today. I think these with my existing lighting will suffice for now. I spent a long time at GC watching different scanners and moving heads. I really like these lights and plan on adding a few more after these are paid for. Will post some pics soon.

Here is a video from Saturdays gig. I love the SPOT 150's and will be getting a couple more in the very near future.

@DJLo50 please refrain from using the quote button, there is absolutely no need to quote a previous post everytime you wish to add to a thread, most of us are intelligent enough to work out who you are talking to or about.
