Another night im searching around the net. But it is confusing like hell.
Budget : +-500€
If you look at the following 3 consoles you got an idea what im looking for. However I'm looking for something that isn't know for its "flaws/bugs or any other problems".
First i got into vestax vci 400 but in a store that sells like all consoles they are taken out of the list. I also found complaints about noise on the audio and that some shops took them off as they had to much complaints. (Have no clue if its true, i mailed a store to ask yet awaiting answer.)
vms4.1 was another option, budget friendly but i read to stay away from american audio.
denon dnmc6000 with its 600€ is just a bit over my budget. (Lines have to be drawn somewhere, increasing a bit here and there gets you to 999€ faster then you think)
So all value for money suggestions welcome.

From what I have heard I would stay away from the American Audio VMS4.1, haven't heard much about the vci-400 though. But if it's retailers are taking them off the shelves I would stay away from that one like the plague.
Another to consider could be the Numark N4 or a Numark Mixdeck Quad.
Just do your research, look at buyers guides and reviews etc. You will always read about problems with every piece of hardware that is reviewed, just find the one that suits your needs the best

You won't find a VCI400 for around €500,-. Retail is about €780,- atm. If you still want it, just google the name and you willl still find shops that sell it. Some forum-members are going to sleep and wake up with the VCI400 in a tight embrace. It's not really plug and play but extremely mappable.
If you can buy the MC6000 for €600,- I would go for that without thinking. Just got mine for €685,-.... (because it was on route and they were in stock)
If you want to stay within your budget, have a look at the MC3000. But, to be honest, the difference in price between that and the MC6000 and the added functionality couldn't keep me away from the 6000.
I've waited to get the budget to buy the controller I want. Don't let the budget force you into buying something you'll regret.

Thanks for the replies.
I can buy the denon dnmc6000 for 600€ and the vestax vci400 for 699€. (even found a store for 689 but lost the link)
I might even buy one of these secondhand.
I also got a mail from a store that took the vci (but not only the vci, just all vestax products) of the shelves and even tho they weren't very detailed nor did i ask further questions the answer comes to this : vestax is not a reliable, thrustworthy company.
If that is caused by a problem with the store and vertex about b2b things or by poor aftersales i dont know.
But as there are no bug problems reported here (unlike vms4) i now asume the controller is ok.

Hi, just wanted to say that I've got the vci 400 and I'm not sure what experience your shop has had, but my experience with Vestax has been great.
The vci 400 does take a while to get set up properly (I had problems getting good sound from it at first) but now I've found the settings that work it's fantastic.
If you want to get technical with mapping all those buttons and stuff then vci400 all the way, if not, then Denon mc6000. That has the advantage of being a proper hardware mixer and having 2 mic inputs with EQ and a booth ouput- so lots of useful features for working DJs.
Hope that helps.

here is my view on the original version of the american audio vms4....
great mixer, the jog wheels work perfectly and are to me the most important bit of the vms4. the touch sensitive jogs
are a must have feature for anyone buying a new midi.
all the faders and knobs work very well and do there job as needied.
the mixer is analog witch means that the mixer controls can be used without software as a slandered vinyl dj's mixer.
this can be a plus but also has its own problems. the tracks that you load onto a vdj deck are passed by usb to the mixer
and what you see on the screen is just a visual representation of what the mixer is doing. i.e when u first turn on a vms4
if all the channel faders are turn down but you see them up on the monitor, the true position is what the mixer is set to
not what vdj is showing. the output from the mixer goes out the master channel output on the back of the vms4 and
not back up the usb lead to the pc. you will not be able to use virtual dj broadcast or record.
but u can route the master out on the mixer to the line in on a pc and use simplecast to broadcast....
youseing timecodes is impossible as it distorts all channels and yousing timecode will mean that you have to set
the mixer to 4 out mode, reduceing the mixer from 4 channels to 2 channels...
there is a issue with the mic channels but as a home dj i can live with it...
so to sum it up i love my vms4, but wish american audio would fix the problems with it, but instead
they decided to fix the issues and release the vms4.1 and have little regard for those that have the original mixer
find out if they have fixed all the problems i have described and most important try before u buy.
if these problems have been fixed id highly recommend it for this price range ;)
