Topic: Advice on audio/monitoring problem (headphones)

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi guys, sorry to be a pain but I'm posting this here because nobody seems to use the Mac section of the forum.

I just got VirtualDJ Pro 7.0.4 I think, a friend gave me a new copy after he decided to use Traktor instead I think. Generous eh. I installed VDJ it on Macbook Pro lion 10.7.4

I've got it set on Advanced Output, a Firewire Alesis Multimix12 connected as the main mix out, and my headphones plugged into the 3.5mm jack in the laptop acting as the mix monitor.

I can mix successfully for a few minutes and simply put my headphones monitor signal goes all fuzzy or distorted. It's like the computer lets go of the on board driver that's running my headphones, the mixer output is unaffected but the headphones are unusable it's like theyre all distorted and dying.

Am i missing something where setup is concerned?

My macbook spec is core 2 duo 2.66ghz, 4gb ram osx 10.7.4
Cubase, reason, logic all run fine on here so why shouldnt virtualDJ?
Thanks

Your question have been already answered in the MAC FORUMS please do not post the same question in every forums.

Thanks but it wasn't helpful unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. I think the problem is in the software, everything else I use functions correctly. Thanks
