Topic: I HATE ACCIDENTS

I just have to vent...

I'm PARKED in a McDonalds parking lot waiting on a client. I'm in my BRAND NEW GMC Yukon Denali. (Contract and deposit time)

Some dude comes through the parking lot with a U-Haul truck pulling a trailer. He comes from my right side trying to turn left. He cuts instead of CLEARING THE TRAILER and the trailer CRUNCHES my front right fender, bumper, headlight and bezel.

DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!!!!

He has insurance but it's not the same company as mine so I have to WAIT for his insurance company to investigate and approve the claim. He was DEAD IN THE WRONG. He accepted responsibility and told my insurance company as much. (I called GEICO on the spot)

A cop saw the whole thing and gave me his card as a potential witness.

This will all get sorted out but....

DAMN! Brand New Denali!

Sorry to hear about that. Lots of idiots on the street. They need to make people take over the driving test every 5 years.

If you had collision coverage on your car, you shouldn't have to wait to make a claim against Geico and then Geico will make a claim against the other car. But, even if you did have the coverage, you have to be careful if this was your personal auto because if you were there for business purposes at the time of the accident, and it sounds like you were, there would likely be no coverage from Geico (unless you had business or commercial coverage on the vehicle).

Same scenario if you had accident in your personal auto and your DJ equipment is damaged on the way to a party. No coverage under most cases unless you have business or commercial coverage (at least here in NY)
 
nah, he was just picking up a burger before going to a business meeting...
 
I have full coverage but I have a $500 deductible. I can make my claim with Geico but I will have to pay the deductible and then get reimbursed once Geico gets the funds from the other insurance company.

Therefore, I have to wait.
 
If you go to the right body shop and there is enough damage, you won't be paying any deductible
 
Sorry for your loss bro, it'll all get worked out. I've been there, I know...
