Wondering if I can use the MC6000 and iRemote to control VDJ at the same time without having to make any changes. For example, if I'm behind the mixer I'm controlling it that way, but if I need to step out to lead a dance or interact with the crowd I can still control via the iRemote. Is this possible?

Are you asking if Iremote will look like the 6000? No (unless they made a skin for it) I use it occasionally and it works fine. No changes whatsoever

In principle it would be just like using two "normal" controllers at the same time.
This is normally done for extra functionallity like supporting 4 decks or having additional controls for effects. That's fully supported and doesn't require any switch-over
