Hey.
I had much problems with my new Sony Vaio and the preinstalled bloated Windows 7.
Sony has made several "improvments" :-( to the Power Management of the preinstalled WIndows.
I had Bshort Black Screens (~3 seconds), audio dropouts ....
Like my old slipstreamed XP from here: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/126508/General_Discussion/Windows_XP_-_SP3_Audio_Optimized.html
I have made an Slipstreamed Windows 7 HomePremium with SP1 and all Updates until 04/2012.
This windows is also tweaked, i have disabled all services which are not needed for VDJ.
Its tweaked with RT7 Lite to reduce its size and optimize the performance for Digital Audio Workstations like our Notebooks with VDJ. I have tested this the last gigs ... and it runs like hell :-)

!! YOU MUST HAVE AN VALID Windows 7 HomePremium KEY to install this (Consumer License) !!
!! This is no WAREZ its just an slipstramed Windows 7 !!
Install as follows:
* Install like any other windows (boot from CD)
* Install the newest Drivers of your notebook
* Run DPC Latency Checker after setting up windows and check what devices you must disable that NO red bars occurs
* Ill recommend you to take the battery out and just run with AC power (this safes the battery life) and no cpu power saving state can occur
* Deactivate all USB Power Modes on all "USB Root Hubs" (in device manager)
* Set the power scheme to "High performance" (German: Höchstleistung) and set all settings to never sleep (example - hdd shutdown, Hibernating...)
* Install the newest VDJ
* Install the newest drivers of your console
* Start VDJ and set it up
Remember, you must install any other codec you want to use ... example: for playing back videos.
With this tweaks my Sony Vaio runs like it should and i had no audio dropouts.
Please let me know your results.
Have fun
