I have been using Virtual DJ for a long time on laptops and just thought I would mention to anyone wanting a high spec laptop to run the VJ software what I have come across.
The Novatech Extreme Elite. It is perfect for the job, expensive but so well worth it.
I bought one a couple of months ago and it eats virtual dj for breakfast, I use full video with all the bells and whistles running, lots of plugins operating, I use motionloop graphics a lot plus scroll text & video rotation etc.
Plugged into a hercules RMX.
The CPU usage never exceeds 17% no matter how hard I push it. 2 videos running, plus clipbank etc - still really smooth.
Also I can run other high spec graphics generators in the background pulling them onto the projector as and when I want to use them. They happily tick away behind virtual DJ and there is not a problem.
My old dual core laptop just managed to run these programs on their own.
If you can afford it, I can recommend this laptop. Worth saving up for.

Exact machine I use too, good choice. Doesn't break a sweat ever!
