Topic: Microphone up, music volume down on the >>Hercules Dj4Set

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Is it possible on this controller to tweak it so that when i push the microphone button the music is automatically reduced by (lets say 50%).
And then when i push the microphone button again (off) the music returns with its original volume?

What you are asking for is called a "talk over" feature. I'm not sure if that Herc device has one, or not...

thanks for the reply,

anyone knows how to make this feature possible ?

To clear things: I've send Jeffrey this way because on the Dutch forum there's not enough knowledge about mapping. Is there anyone who can explain to Jeffrey how to map a keyboard-shortcut to decrease channel volume and open up the mic-volume an vise versa?

Please try this ...

down ? dj_mic & master_volume 50% & mic_volume 100% : djc_mic & master_volume 100% & mic_volume 0%

Read here https://virtualdj.com/wiki/How%20do%20I%20change%20the%20mapping%20for%20a%20button.html on how to map a controller button.

I dont know how the djc_mic works, and if the mic is hardwired or not. In case the above script lowers the mic when pressing (as it lowers the master volume), so let us know if that works for you..

The DJ 4Set includes a Talk over function, but it is disabled by Virtual DJ in order to use the microphone as a recording source. I'm not sure this behavior can be modified via mapping.
