In context, I would say that MID is correct because 'middle' is between 'high' and 'low'.
MED is (or should be) short for 'medium' which fits between 'small' and 'large' for clothing sizes!

hehe, good spot... I guess it stands for medium instead of middle... But I have always referred to them as "mids", meds are a little more fun to play with when at a club
