I have tried 3 others that were supposedly compatible with Windows and Mac computers. However, all 3 had some sort of issue. Tried each on Windows XP, windows Vista, and Windows 7. Each had unique problems to the OS as well as to the controller. It's $300, so, as with any somewhat spendy purchase, I am treading cautiously. Have any of you used it? And what are your personal opinions? I'm no pro. But I like having the freedom to grow with this with time. Thanks to all.

Not sure about this particular model, but a lot of guys on here have really bad things to say about the VMS products. Mainly reliability issues....In your price range there ate several controllers u could look at.....Everyone LOVES the Mixtrack Pro and its under 300.....Have a look at that one....Very high ratings is all Ive ever heard about it.....I personally use a Hercules RMX....Is a little older, but again, great reviews, solid build and under 250$ now last I checked.......Hope that helps... =D

Hercules RMX is a great option, personally im staying away from Numark for a while, they are putting out great concepts but poor quality.
Many people have reported issues with American Audio equipment, the VMS2 & VMS4.1 were supposed to address all those issues.
The Hercules RMX is a great option, however, Hercules is no longer stocking parts for it, my fader is gone and i checked with them to order the part but S.O.L...
It comes down to this... If you wish to connect turntables & CD player (with timecodes) you should look into the VMS or the Hercules RMX
If you just want a controller and nothing else consider the Mixtrack Pro.
