Hi there, Ive been dj'ing for 12 years and consider myself accomplished. Bought the Hercules RMX 5 months ago, installed the vdj that comes with it on my Windows 7 lappie, and updated the drivers and have been enjoying my mixing up until now. Now its like using cheap belt driven turntables again. Where the sync button used to sync the beats now it puts every beat out, doesn't matter how much i readjust with the jog wheels the beats just wont sync! They used to sync perfectly and now they dont. Its like being a beginner again and is extremely annoying as my beatmixing has always been spot on. And as u know, if ur beats are out u cant concentrate on creating an excellent mix and then whats the point? Even playing a tune thru vdj without mixing results in a tune that doesnt sound right, the beats sound wobbly so 2 wobbly tunes on top of each other just sounds a mess.
Ive recorded 5 excellent cd's and enjoyed countless fun mixes and now it saddens me to go from perfect mixing to total shite in the last month through no fault of my own. Do i need new drivers or is there some fix that will make it work again?
Cheers in advance :)

Try to revert your setting to the factory defaults. Most likely you have changed some setting that you can't remember and it causes this strange behavior.
If everything else fails, just uninstall the software and re-install
PS: Disconnect your external drives and take a backup of your database that's located on C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\VirtualDJ\VirtualDj Database V6.XML before you un-install the software. This way you won't loose all your cue-points, BPM info, e.t.c.

I had the EXACT SAME issue...I did an UNINSTALL ON THE HERCULES DRIVERS FIRST, the go bk. to the Hercules website and reinstall the drivers. Problem solved. I think that your issue is outdated hardware drivers. Just dont forget to uninstall the old set FIRST...Hop this helps..Let us know....

It's possible that you may have turned on auto-beat matching features such as 'smart play', etc.

If that doesnt help...
- Check if your system didn't get very busy with other stuff, if there are processes eating CPU or memory (also check system processes)
- Make sure under performance -> Mastertempo -> Advanced Stretching is chosen
- If that all fails, put the VDJ process in realtime priority

Thanks for your prompt replies. I dont know where im supposed to reset factory settings as my VDJ doesn't have a config tab. I have the 4.HDJS.2011 drivers and the Hercules website has HDJS_7_2011 so these must be the up to date drivers? Im off to find an internet cafe to download them as i dont have internet yet. Im really hoping this works.

Great news folks! That's worked a treat taking off version 4 and then installing version 7 drivers. Im back enjoying uber-tight creative mixing again and i cant thank u all enough :) I didn't realise u had to update them but i suppose its not rocket science is it? So how often do they bring out new drivers?
