Topic: Normalize tempo

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I apologize if this has been brought up before, I tried looking but I'm not sure what to search for.

What is the best way to deal with non-constant bpms? For example, a song that was recorded live with no metronome and the drummer's timing wasn't perfect. VDJ can approximate the bpm by looking at the average, but looping and mixing has to be done manually. Is there any way to stretch or compress each beat in order to normalize the tempo?

you should manually beat match if you are trying to sync two songs together.
