Hi, been doing my reseach and was wondering which is the cheapest way to start a set up. would it be using a midi mixer or using a external mixers and some midi controllers E.g midi fighter?
or would it be best to use a midi board e.g hercules and some midi fighters?
and is there any cheaper alternatives to the midi fighter?

grab a numark mixtrack or mixtrack pro, the midi fighter is pretty much useless for vdj unless your gonna use it for a dedicated launcher for fx or samples.
mitrack is £129.99 and the pro version is £159.99.
you can go from there as you learn.

Take a look at the Vestax VCI-400
This has pads that can be used to trigger loops, samples, etc. and comes with VirtualDJ LE included. This can be upgraded to the full VirtualDJ Pro at a considerable discount (50%), allowing you to customise the mappings to your own preferences if you wish.
