thanks keith,

The file is a .wav and no it wont play in vdj it says error. To state again it will play in vlc media player. I wonder if i have to convert it to a different file type. it wont play in vdj, itunes or winamp just vlc... weird.

download "audacity" open the wav, then save it as an mp3. hopefully that will work for you... you can also change the format vdj records in to mp3 in the "recording config" screen.

yet the original file still works in vlc.

this is getting strange haha vlc for the win but im just curious now if i can get it to play in anything else.

thanks for the replies.

I googled a bit and found this:

Try Wave Agent and let us know what happens.
http://www.sounddevices.com/products/waveagent.htm

OR (don't know if this is possible,i f not it definately should :)))
Try playing it with VLC then use another program to record the sound coming out of your speakers and then you have the song.

Or you can try and google for "corrupt wave file" , there seem to be a lot of "fix corrupt wave file" programs out there, like Goldwave, Wav saver

yo yo,

Alright i finally got to the file. Thanks for the awesome advice audicity did the trick in like 2 minutes.

I imported the corrupt file by going "import raw data" then saved it by going "export" and saving it as an mp3.

Super easy super awesome thanks a lot and have a great weekend!

cheers,

Hi there I bought a hercules rmx console a few years ago, but now i want to re-sell it to a new dj, my question is this, I want that person to be able to register his copy (my old copy) which I will complete erase from my software or updates as soon as I sell it, I also want to give him the serial so he can use it and get his updates under his email and he does not have to rely on me to get him the updates,.. is that posible? a few years ago I updated my controllers so i don't need the hercules remix anymore., how can I do all that?

Sorry, this is not possible. VirtualDJ serial numbers are not transferable and cannot be sold or given to any other user - Please see: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Serial%20Transfer.html - Your VirtualDJ Console Edition serial is also part of your Pro license because you used it to upgrade at a discount.

You can sell the console to him and include the original Hercules Console Edition CD to allow him to install the original VirtualDJ Console Edition that came with it, but he will not be able to register the serial and will not be entitled to any software updates, plugins, etc. For this, he will need to purchase his own license for the full VirtualDJ Professional: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

NOTE: Console Edition for RMX is not entitled to any updates beyond v5.2.2 and doesn't support custom skins, effects, etc. outside of the 20 day trial of Pro (v5.2.2)
