My VMS4.1 came in today. Everything was working great, i had the whole thing mapped correctly and was mixing for about a half hour. I plugged the usb back in and now virtual DJ nor Traktor will recognize the VMS4.1. It just wont work in either software. Can anyone please help? none of the settings have changed in the software this is bugging me so much.

I remember when I had the original VMS4, one day it would work perfect and the next day I had to change all the setting around again because it wouldn't work. It was the most frustrating piece of gear I have ever owned.

Why do I hear this from people? I never have any issues, neither do my colleagues that I know including Johnny Aftershock Mancilla who video mixed on his for 9 straight hours at Winter NAMM last week. Try running VDJ in Game Booster like I do. I use the Pro version of VDJ to mix music, video and run karaoke and I do it almost continuously on a daily basis without so much as a glitch. Shut down all unnecessary background programs (something you should be doing anyway). Download "Game Booster 3" Then run VDJ in it by right clicking on VDJ and selecting the "Run in Game Booster" option. Here is a video that I did a couple of weeks ago that explains all you need to know..

Do you by any chance have your computer in power saving mode or maybe the USB is set to allow to shutdown to save power ?

Ok well i have somewhat resolved the issue. Here it is. If i boot my computer up, and plug in the VMS4.1 and open up VDJ or Traktor everything works great. However, if i turn off the VMS4.1 and come back later (the computer is still running) and attempt to go back into VDJ it wont recognize the unit. Im sure there is a reason for this, could anybody explain?

Yes, you have to either restart VDJ or go to config, sound setup then click apply if you the VMS4 in "Soundcard". There should be "None" in "Inputs" and "Outputs" should be blank or "external mixer" can be selected however it will likely revert to a blank regardless. Get the free version of Game Booster 3 and follow the instructions on my video.
I will be at Mobile Beat Las Vegas (MBLV16) so if anyone needs help with VDJ and any of the "VMS" series of products from American Audio, feel free to hunt me down. I will help as much as possible.
