Topic: MP3 vs m4a audio files?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Whenever possible I use Promo Only but when I am getting older songs I need to either get them from Amazon (mp3) or Itunes (m4a) both have about the same bit rate, and I see that the m4a format seems to no longer be an Itunes only format.

I use my Iphone, Ipad all the time and virtual dj plays the m4a files, so is this newer file the better of the two?
