This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello, ive been using a desktop (asus with a quad core processor, and 6gb of ram) and its worked well except for having to transport to shows. Im looking at refurbished laptops at this time, and wondering if an i5 2.3 ghz processor is going to be good enough for video mixing , using an ns6 controller. Any suggestions would be appreciated... thanks, jon

It's more the video card you need to look at .... the i5 processor can run VDJ no problem at all.

What do you suggest for a video card specs on an i5?

Look at the suggested specs posted for the software. I've been running vdj with (2) underspeced laptops (1.6ghz, dual core, 2gb ram, 224mb of shared video memory (gma 950) & they run video very well. I just purchased an Asus 2.53gh core 2 duo, 10gb ram, 1gb ddr 3 video ram to use with my NS6 but they all run Video with my NS6 on VDj. I would get as high a video spec card as u can though..
