Ok, I've tried to build a playlist and let it "automix".
Problems:
1) Some songs are 8-9minutes long and I don't want to hear the whole thing. Is there a way to play just 3mins or a set time for all songs in playlist without manually mixing it? I'm trying to just let it play and mix in on its own with no intervention.
2) Is there a way to save the BPM settings on a specific song so it plays at that speed all the time? Everytime I start virtual dj I have to re-set the speed of certain songs manually. I've used the sync button to keep the speed when manually mixing, but again, trying to leave as is with no intervention or "auto pilot"
Oh, I'm not a DJ and barely been using the free version 7 for about 2 weeks now. Any help???

Welcome to the forum!
1) Yes, you can set in & out points on each track. Page 19 onwards tells all: http://www.virtualdj.com/images/pdf/VirtualDJ%207%20-%20User%20Guide.pdf
2) No

2) With VDJ pro, you can record a mp3. So, play your desired song at the desired speed (ie. from 120 bpms to 125bpms), record song, rename it SongName+125bpm and then use the new file everytime.

Great, great advice, I keep forgetting we can do that.

To build on that...The new automix feature is great because it uses one deck to mix the playlist, freeing up the other deck to help "fine tune" cue points of the other songs in your playlist, or set cue points of new songs on the fly before you put them into your playlist.
