Topic: Video not displaying occasionally

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I play a lot of videos when working and every now and then a video will just display a blank screen, although the audio from the video file will play with no problem. It doesn't happen a lot, but is strange, and I wondered whether it has happened to anyone else?

Yes and I can't nail down why. 98 percent of my videos have been converted to mp4 either avc or straight up. I have sometimes been able to drag the file up to the video window(using vMix 5.4 skin) and get it going, other times (when important enough) I have loaded it on the other deck and synced it in headphones and crossfaded. It is only occasionally, and possibly when I am in a hurry as in a last-second request and the file hasn't completely loaded before I have to press play. As I write this I wonder if it has anything to do with keyframes. If anyone can chime in it would be great. Definitely not a gigbreaker (like the USB jack on my controller / soundcard breaking on New Year's Eve), but for sure an inconvenience. You are NOT alone.

Ha I'm not alone, happened NYE right when I was playing the five minute countdown to midnight, lost video but audio kept running thank God.

Thought I was the only one aswell. The video on deck 2 will disappear and only deck ones video plays no matter where the crossfader is. The audio is fine but no video shows up.

NYE was karaoke for me however couldn't send video to second screen, I know this is different issue but I'll look into this, this week and report back.

This has happened to me on a few occasions also.

So I wasn't the only one. I upgraded from i5 to i7, dual-core to quad-core, from 4GB RAM to 8GB and I still get this occasionally.

Generally you will find that if you reload the video again immediately it will then play without issue.

Hope all is well Mr T, you going to Clives little gathering?

Hi Scott, yep, I'll see you there

Hmmm, I get this too. More annoying than anything else.

I experienced the same problem last weekend. I am playing only FLV files. I experienced it at both deck A and deck B. It happened rarely though. Loading another video file and skipping back seems to work most of the times.

Its been happening to me too. Its very random but it happens. The video blacks out for a few seconds.

Man I thought maybe it was a glitch in the clubs system. It happens to me from time to time where video would cut out too. I typically just go in the video setting screen and click off and on the box for the video driver. That seems to work for me.
